Merry Christmas!!
We went a little bit of everywhere for Christmas! We started off on the 22nd at my mom's, crossed the street the next morning to my sister's, then on the 24th we ate lunch with Steve's parents....the 25th was spent at our house, since Santa visited! Jesse and Myah had a great day and seemed to love their presents!
Myah's First Christmas Program
This was the same night as her first Tae Kwon Do testing! What a busy night! Myah was soooo cute in the program! I am just sorry that I was the only one in the family to see it! Steve was with Jesse while he was doing his testing for his green belt! But she beamed up there and did a great job, anyway! (See the Tae Kwon Do pictures below!)

Tae Kwon Do Testing Dec. 20th, 2007
This was a busy night for us! Myah had her firsts! Myah's first Tae Kwon Do testing and her first school program....both on the same night! So we had some camera issues! Steve had our old camera at the testing...sorry some pictures are fuzzy! While Jesse was testing, Myah did her program then we raced to a different town (Neoga to Effingham) to do her testing, too. Jesse and Myah passed with flying colors ;-) Jesse is now sparring (fighting) and he LOVES that! It is so neat to see them enjoy something and learn at the same time! I believe this is something important for them to be involved in! I'm so proud of BOTH of them!

Weight Watchers Update
Well Thanksgiving didn't derail me too badly ~ I only gained 0.4!
It was probably the weight of my hair barrette!

Steve fixed the treadmill and with the new Wii game "Dance Dance Revolution" I should be getting more exercise in too!
Encourage me on....I need it with Christmas goodies on the way!

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND
We had a good birthday weekend. We went to Springfield for our birthday celebration. I think the best part was going to a kickboxing class with my sister! Believe it or not! I think it was because I got to spend some "alone" time with her which we never seem to get to do any more....it was nice, but an extremely HARD workout! I still hurt!
THANKS for all the birthday wishes!

BUT.....birthdays are coming......pray I keep my composure!
Steve's #34 was today! We surprised him with frozen pizza, brownies, and ice cream! (They were fat free brownies and ice cream.....but very delicious, even if I do say so myself!) We watched one of his birthday presents (Wild Hogs) and enjoyed a family only evening! This weekend we'll head to Springfield for more "partying" with my family!

New Computer!
Stevie got me a NEW laptop! My birthday and Christmas all rolled into one! The old computer pooped out! It may take me a while to get all the things uploaded and launched, but internet is working and I'm working hard to get it all going! Just in time to plan and prepare for teaching my classes at LLC! Fun!

Fall Church Camping Trip and Get Together
WOW!
What a wonderful weekend we had!
ONLY I forgot to take pictures AND I ate too much!
We had some WONDERFUL cooks that will probably ruin my Wednesday weigh in!
I better get off the couch the rest of this week and workout!
Myah had fun playing with Gracie and Alexis!
Jesse had fun trading his Poke'mon cards with Will and Zach!
Bear and Baxter had fun barking at all the other doggies!
And Steve enjoyed not working for one night!

A Long Journey
It has been 2 years since my surgery and diagnosis of cancer and a year and a half since my last chemo treatment....I was diagnosed just 5 months after bringing our daughter home from China....
Below are some pictures that remember the long journey of faith, love, and hope....
My chemo-brain has trouble remembering. Looking back at the pictures makes it all feel like a bad nightmare with "spirit"....
Cancer and chemo make your world as you know it disappear. You are treated fragile while going through treatments, then after your hair grows back life goes on. Unfortunately, that is not exactly how it is...My body and mind are not the same or as sharp...I have trouble remembering what a "file cabinet" is called! Talk about frustrating! (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/10/061006072544.htm) Not to mention every time I hear a certain song, or wait for the next oncology appointment to tell me if the cancer is back or not...I bawl my eyes out or stress in some way...
The chemo treatment for ovarian cancer is different than for other cancers, as is for any cancer - they all need certain combinations of chemotherapy to kill the cancer. I had the long version, as the doctor called it with two drugs: Taxol and Carboplatin. I called it 6 hours of sitting in a chair with an I.V. It was sort of relaxing, since I was able to get off work and TOLD to sit! I don't take time to relax often. But there were many times that I passed out or had a bad I.V. (One I.V. started blood spewing all over the floor!) So, in that aspect the chemo treatment made life hard. Not including the 4 days after each treatment that I couldn't get off the couch!
BUT, with prayers, love, faith, and friends...I'm here! AND, I have to say THANK YOU! To my sister that sat with me in the hospital after the surgery and my mom that cried because she wanted to come, but couldn't because of health reasons! To all of those that visited me or called or sent cards! To my boss, Mary, who came to meet me before my first treatment! To one of my dearest, longest friends, Penny, that came during my Christmas treatment just to bring me cheer! To two of my friends that called every few days to check in on me! To those of you that didn't laugh when I didn't wear my wig, those of you that brought me food, those of you who went shopping for me, those of you that took Jesse to church, to grandma and grandpa that watched the kids on weekends, and to the one that took care of me and sat with me during treatments when he hadn't had any sleep from working all night...my dear, loving , caring, Steve....THANK YOU!
THANK YOU LORD for another year!

Myah's First Day of Pre-School
Myah started school today. She was taken by Grandpa...busing starts next week, and I had a terribly busy Wednesday! See her breakfast in her hand and her Dora backpack?
She loved school! She didn't want to leave! Her favorite things were playing with Play Dough and walking to the park...or at least that is all she told me about!
My baby girl is growing up.... waaaaa!
