Proposed call for Illinois Constitutional Convention

Vote NO, NO, NO !!!

On November 4th, we'll be voting for a new president -- but residents of Illinois will also be asked to vote yes or no to a proposed call to revise/rewrite the Illinois Constitution. You have probably already received a blue pamphlet informing you of this.

While this pamphlet is informative, it neglects to mention that there is an effort afoot to deny teachers and other state employees their hard-earned pensions.

We cannot allow anti-education lobbyists, who support spending $78 Million on a constitutional convention, the chance to get language inserted into our state constitution that will effectively take away what minimal security Illinois teachers (both new and veteran) currently have. If ever you believed in 'trickle down' theory, imagine how the dominoes would fall, and who would be hurt the most, if this were to happen.

If you feel as I do, please forward this to as many Illinois voters as you can. Tell them not to be misguided by the blue pamphlet they've received from the Sec'y of State.
Ask them to vote NO on November 4th.

If you'd like more information, go to http://www.ieanea.org/. Under the dark blue 'legislative' tab, click on 'con con'.

Thanks for listening/reading...VOTE!

I can't begin to figure out why they want a constitutional convention anyway? Why would they feel the need to spend the money to "fix" something that is working perfectly fine.
My rant is over!
Have a good day Wright family!
